painter, iconographer and engraver. He studied painting at the Athens School of
Fine Arts from 1915 to 1921. In 1925 he was appointed professor of engraving at
the high school of Grevena. During the interwar period, he participated in the
founding of the avant-garde artistic group (Omas Techni). A modest but
pioneering artist, he tried to combine in his work the Greek folk tradition, the
spirit of Byzantine iconography and the teachings of Cubism and other artistic
movements of the early 20th century. (-) his subject matter, it varies from the
countryside and the urban landscape to human nature." [006825]
